This significant milestone is an opportune time to embrace change as we aim to connect with comics readers in more diverse ways. Starting this year, we will send out a bi-annual e-newsletter to keep fans updated on the latest events at Comix Home Base. Kicking things off, we’re thrilled to unveil the Comix Arts Fest happening this summer that will feature a local comix art fair, artist sharing sessions, pop-up stores, screenings, and more. Hong Kong Arts Centre is delighted to be organising our first ever a large-scale comix art fair in July and August called Comix Arts Fest 2025 Hong Kong, which will showcase original artworks by local comic artists and illustrators!
Are you one such talent? Do you want a platform with which to present your creativity and passion to Hong Kong and beyond? This is your chance to feature your work and be part of an extraordinary event that celebrates the art of comics and illustration. Don’t miss out—submit your application by 16 June. Prudence Mak of Chocolate Rain joins HKAC

We are delighted that Prudence Mak, creator and Intellectual Property owner of Chocolate Rain, an esteemed IP brand in Hong Kong, has joined Hong Kong Arts Centre (Comix Home Base) as Senior Advisor. Prudence will lead Hong Kong Arts Centre into an exciting new chapter using her expertise to promote Hong Kong’s outstanding comic artists and illustrators on the global stage. We look forward to her invaluable contributions and insights.

HK Artists and Overseas Publishers team up to launch HK creations globally

Hong Kong comic artists who returned from the Angoulême International Comics Festival 2025 will be sharing their experiences and insights with Hong Kong readers. Discover what inspired them, what they learned, and how the festival has influenced their creative journeys. The publishers and Hong Kong artists will also shed light on the process of publishing Hong Kong comics overseas. Don’t miss this rare behind-the-scenes look at the world of comics.

Comix Short Course Special Offer!

To celebrate 20 wonderful years of Comix Home Base, the Hong Kong Arts Centre is offering special pricing on comix short courses with limited availability!
Not only are we bringing back “Comics 101”, an introductory course for beginners in comics creation, but we are also introducing new short course “Illustration and IP 101”, aimed at beginners in Illustration and Intellectual property creation this autumn. Local masters will be invited to share their experiences in drawing comics, illustration, and developing original Intellectual property. Participants will have the chance to present their final artwork while receiving valuable critique from masters. Watch this space for more information on class schedules and registration.

A Visual Voyage: Hong Kong and Scenes, Hong Kong Comics x Movie Exhibition in Seoul

Exciting news from South Korea’s capital! Comix Home Base organised an exhibition in Seoul to promote Hong Kong’s unique culture through Hong Kong movies, comics and illustrations. This event cultivated exchange between Hong Kong and South Korea, with full support from the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
What a colourful fusion of comics, movies, and Augmented Reality animation with participating artists that included Hong Kong comic artist Kwan-ho Cheung, emerging Hong Kong illustrator Pearl Law, and renowned South Korean illustrator Kyutae Lee, who showcased artwork depicting nine filming locations in Hong Kong. The recent blockbuster film adaptation of City of Darkness unveiled a fresh new look through a bold graphic re-interpretation. Click here to watch the video.

We have successfully presented two collaborations featuring Comix X Dance X Kung Fu Performance, merging dance, animation, LED light props, and live music into a spectacular show that ran from January to March! These cutting-edge performances delivered an immersive, multi-sensory spectacle that redefines the limits of traditional entertainment. The performances were an innovative way to captivate fans and draw new audiences to the world of comics and animation! Click here to learn more.
